Laurel Braids

Beans hair is still not very long, but you'd think other-wise looking at this hairstyle. I ADORE this hair style. And it really the first braid we've been able to do all the way down the back in a very long time. I love this style. I hope you do too.

You may wonder why I am calling this a Laurel Braid... well frankly it reminds me of the things Romans used to wear on there head called a Laurel. You know what I am talking about the headdress made out of leafs. Yeah. I'm sure you can see the resemblance too.

What does it remind you of? What would you have named it?

  1. So pretty! Where do you get your "good" bobby pins? I bought a box from Sally Beauty Supply, but they still sometimes twist when I'm putting them in. What's your favorite brand to buy?

    1. I just went to look at what brand I use and the label was removed. Sorry. I sometimes get mine from Sally's though and I haven't hated those at all. I thought they were pretty good. I think sometimes bobby-pins just twist out of design, but if its twisting every time from poor material, then there is a problem.

      Did that make sense?

  2. So pretty Jenn!! I love the zigzag parting with it. Also, congrats on your new precious addition! @ Jill, I just recently bought the supreme bobby pins from Sally's, but they kept twisting too. I think it was a bad batch because I have bought those before and they worked great. Maybe changed material? I bought a different brand at Sally's in a round, hard plastic container and they have been wonderful!

  3. So, so cute. And, I like the name. It does look like a laurel to me, too. How well did it hold up throughout the day? Sometime I need to get you to show me how to french braid. You can critique me and tell me why mine turn out so quasi. :) I love your short do, too!

    1. Thank you Camille. It held up well. It had some flyaways, but it was still "in" a style come the end of the day.

  6. How would you change the style for long hair? What would you do with the ends?

    1. Maybe wrap them above on top into a sophisticated bun.

  7. Whenever I try tucking in ends like that, my daughter complains about the ends poking her scalp and itching. Did Beans say anything about that?
