The Great Braid Debate--- Test Braid #1

The other day I had a conversation with my friend about the different waves that different braids make. She is convinced there is no difference--- I think there is. So Beans and I are on a mission to prove there are different waves created by different braids. Using day after braids waves can really be fun, so hopefully this will give you an idea of the different waves that different braids create.
Test braid number one is just your typical standard french braid. We curled the ends under before taking the braid completely out just so it would curl under.
NOW--- What you can do to help me with this debate is give me your descriptive words. How do you describe the texture of the curls created by regular french braids?

  2. I totally believe that different braids make different waves! if you do a french braid or dutch braid you get two different looks the next day!

  3. well they're not ringlet curls, more like S curls....but yeah i'm excited to see pictures from the different braids and waves, because i definitely have noticed that different braids, especially two strand vs three strand make different waves.

  4. I think even an inside out verse regular french braids is different. The inside out seams to have more wave to it.

  5. I don't know how to explain that, BUT the best day after waves come from 2-stranded braids, in my opinion. I love them!

  6. soft, loose, poofage, waved not curled. The thought never occurred to me that thy would be different so I can't wait to see.

  7. Waves are tighter at the top and get looser as you go down. I agree that braids leave different types of curls. Now, I just wish my daughter's hair would hold the curls! They just straighten out in an hour or less. BOO!

  8. Cheesy as I might sound, I am so excited for this!!! Lol ;)

I would say these are large wavy curls. Let's see, you're looking for adjectives... maybe snakey/snakelike or undulating?

  9. We call these snakey waves. Another kind of wave that I love as 2nd day hair is after doing buns. We call it '80s hair. :D Looking forward to seeing more results - thx!

  10. wavy curls? I'm not sure of great adjectives for it... back and forth curls. There's great definition to them. Good volume there too.

  11. This is wavy type of curl while regular braids, I find, are more 'kinked'.

  12. I would say that curl is fluffy, but chunky, and bendy LOL. Very cute picture at the end btw.
