Five Strand Braid--- The Video

Biggest challenge ever!!!!! The day we tried shooting this we had to re shoot several times. My little man is potty training and couldn't keep his naked butt out of the shot for half the day. Then of course the cat attacked Beans for another. The husband was getting bored and the quality of my camera leaves a lot to be desired. Lets just say that this is by all means not a great video, but for the day we were shooting this was as good as it was getting! At least we tried right--- LOL. Don't give up on this one you can do it.

  1. WOW! That's one cool looking braid! Thanks for taking the time to get a video of how to do it. I wish I had one of those old time Barbie heads to practice on, since my daughter is spending the day with Grandma :)

  4. Maybe I should get french braiding down before I try this. My hands hurt just watching you do that. It looks so cool though.

  5. I remember as a girl doing this braid to the fringe of my jacket and then the tail of my My Little Pony. I can't imagine the patience to do it on my daughter's hair. Great job.

  6. Wow! That's amazing! Thanks for the video...it really helps to see it being done. As Stacey said though...I suppose I'll need to get a traditional french braid down first. ;)

  10. I love doing 5 strand braids but there is no way I could do it with my hand facing up like you did. Sometimes I have to hold a strand in my mouth when I run out of fingers...lol

  11. Okay, so I did it with my daughters hair even though her hair is too short... I expected it to be a lot more difficult, but since I kept weaving in mind the whole time it worked out the best I could expect... working with too-short hair and all. It was good practice at very least, and my mom was impressed even if it was a bit messy!

  15. I did this in two separate braids today, starting with the first three groups of hair pulled under so that when I added hair it could be added on top like my normal french braids, turned out good. Still awkward with the hand positioning though, I think that may take a while.

  16. Thanks for your hard work on the video. Beans' hair looks so pretty like that. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to get my daughter to sit still long enough to attempt it! Hope all of your kiddos are doing well.

  17. Holy crap. That looks so hard. Such a beautiful result, though! I can't wait for E and S's hair to grow long enough to try this! Pretty, pretty, pretty!
