Taking Out Elastics

Taking the elastics out is a real challenge in doing hair. In big part because it is a deal maker or breaker. One reason little ones hate having their hair done is the process of taking the hair out is sometimes so traumatizing. This is how we do it to make it painless. Yes we don't reuse elastics ever because we just destroy them to get them out, but it is worth it to make it easier on my little lady. Enjoy!!! (Sorry its not the best quality.)

  6. Good tip. We just pull up one piece of the rubber band & snip it with the baby nail clippers. That way I'm sure to not cut her hair too. Never thought of using my seam ripper. Nice for you to call Andy a dork too! LOL

  7. That is a great idea! I always use some tiny scissors, but that would be even easier to keep from cutting hair!

  8. Great Tip! I use baby nail clippers too, but this seems a bit easier. We'll be using the seam-ripper tonight before baths! Oh, and I am totally loving her cheesy grin at the end of the video. Sooo cute!

  10. Brilliant! My daughter and I both thank you. The funny thing is, I carry a seam ripper in my purse cause it's great for so many things. Never thought of using it for that. LOL

  11. I just recently thought to use the baby nail clippers. It worked great. Except I wasn't smart enough to be careful and, while clipping my second elastic out, I did cut a bit of hair. Probably not much more than when I would pull the elastics out, but still, I learned my lesson.

    I think the seam ripper is a better idea, it can help to pull up the elastic so you know you are not getting hair. Thank you for sharing.
