Simple (little) Wreath

I love how people have been doing hair that is holiday themed, but I have a really hard time with styles that are holiday or seasonally themed because sometimes they are just a little to much. Especially for Beans and her very thin fine hair. I wanted a holiday hair do that was not overbearing. Something simple, subtle and darling. I think we found that perfect style. This is a little wreath in her hair.
She loved this hair do. Its top five for her. And who wouldn't love it with those streamers down the back of her hair.
First divide the hair in two sections. Your braid is going to start at the far left (or right) hand side of the upper half of the hair. When I am braiding for this hair do any any time I do a crown on top with the braids I only add hair from one side. Not both sides.
Braid it just like so. I've really been into hair do's where a lot of her hair is left down. That's pretty much the idea to this little wreath. Leaving a lot of the hair down. And because her hair is so thin I had to cheat by doing the arch on top and braiding in the rest and pinning it in to the other side after it is done.
just twist the end over and get it ready to tuck and pin under the start of the braid.
Tuck and bobby pin the hair under the braid.
Add your accessories. I wove in some ribbon to the braid. I didn't follow any pattern. That was just not the kind of day I was having. So I just wove in and out everywhere just adding the ribbon as color and decoration. For the corkscrew ribbon hanging down the side I just put the ribbon on a bobby pin and tucked it inside. If you don't already know how to make your ribbon corkscrewed like this one pictures you can go to this link.
By adding the ribbon it made this perfect (to me). And that particular (Very Cute) bow came from Cutie Pie Hair Creations. She is such a sweet gal. And very generous. She sells ribbons like these for the bow making challenged like myself. So if you don't make your own bows she is another good source for bows. Thank you again for that sweet Christmas gift. You have no idea how happy that made Beans.

So if you don't already have a Christmas hair do to go along with your Christmas Dress this is good one. What way are you doing your daughters hair for her Christmas dress? There are lots of good sites with lots of sweet idea's if you aren't sold on this one and if you are still hunting for that perfect hair do. May I suggest this one, or this one, or even this one... just a few idea's for you.

Flip Flop Friday {The Results: Week 4}

Can you believe I haven't posted a new hair do in a week. OY--- this has been a crazy Christmas. I am so far behind on my shopping. I had good intentions of sewing a lot of fun gifts for my kids. Which I still am, but that broken shoulder put me very behind on my schedule! So I have been playing catch up this whole week. Tell ya what I promise one more hair do before Christmas. It is one I have in my head that broken shoulder or not I really desperately want to try before Christmas. So watch for that... coming very soon.

Apparently this has been a busy week for you guys too as no one submitted a new hair do for flip flop Friday's last week. That's okay. That just gives everyone else a good chance to win. Especailly those following weeks. Man--- that week one has been lucky!

So the winner is------------->

Bows 1,2,6,8,9 & 11 are gone, but she can pick out of the rest of them any two she would like. Thank you so much for playing along! Hope you had fun. Please email me your bow choice and a way to get these to you.

Thank you again (a million times over) to All Thing Ribbon for supplying the bows.

Flip Flop Friday {The Results: Week 3}

Not many new additions to add to the pot this week. Which is good for all the people that have already entered in to Flip-Flop Friday's fun giveaway. We just have the one from Kori over at Hair 4 my Princess and she has had this done forever and ever over on her personal blog. I actually saw it about the same time I started Flip Flop Friday. She is as nuts as me and lets her daughter get "revenge" as she said it. Very cute hair do. I can't wait for your little princess to create like her own blog and show off her skills.

With that said we get to go right to the drawing:

YEAH for Jamie!!! From Curls and Cowlicks! This is a week one person too! I swear that was a good week to get your entry in, but even better----> Jamie is going to have a great story to share when she explains to her husband how she won her bows! (Teeeeheee) Too funny!!! (You have to email me and tell me how that goes down-- okay?)

Bows number 1,6,9 & 11 are gone. Choose from what's left and let me know which ones you are taking and give me a way to get these to you. Congratulations!! And there is still time to hook yourself up with some bows from All Things Ribbon. She gets things shipped out faster then anyone I have ever known. So I am betting that if you get them ordered today that you can still have them in time for Christmas. And enter in "girlydos" at the end for 15% off!

I am going to do one more week of Flip Flop Friday. If you want in on this game make sure and send over your hair do--- done by your daughter.

Another way to pig out.

This one has been on the "saved" files for a while and I just haven't got it posted. So I thought I'd throw it up here as an idea for ya'll.
Do big fat zig-zags and throw pony tail holders in the hair do all the way down. You could just do one or two...
or three. Keep going or stop there. leave some hair down or pull it all into pony tails. But don't forget that zig-zag part. Because that is what makes this hair do so cute.
The dimples help in the cuteness factor for this hair do.

Hit me!!!

When the original Girly Do's was deleted my count dropped a lot. I still get a lot of hits every day (((THANK YOU))) but I have never got my follower list (Not hit count) up to where it was back at my old address. I am a we bit sad about that. I was almost at 150 when I moved here and now I am only at about 35. I realized that--- duh--- I don't even have it on my page. Well I am moving it back to my page and you can add yourself if you want to. I just wanted to take a minute and thank you guys because I have a good time sharing these hair do's. I hope you are having as much fun doing them as I do.

Peacock Bun

Yesterday I did a post that finished with the peacock bun.
And like I have said before with this broken shoulder I am not being the most creative person. Mostly just because it hurts to be ((wink wink)). While I am down
I am being forced to simplify my hair do's a bit. So the other day when Beans came to me in
tears she asked me why I was not doing her hair pretty anymore. And she said she
just wanted to be beautiful. I hugged her and told her no matter how her hair looked that she
is very beautiful. And I did this hair do--- one handed. Instead of sewing in ribbon I just used a fat bow we made. Beans choose out which bow she wanted to use. It's not my
favorite bow, but by all means--- my favorite girl!

Cute do. And (for me at least) it looked really cute when it started to loose its poof- and that was way late into the day, but it falls apart pretty cute also.
That is it.

Knots and a Peacock Bun

SJ is back. And for this we are doing a sweet old style with a newer cleaner look. And with a little umph and lift. I hope you like it.
Start by parting out the front for your knots and back comb the crown gently to give it lift. Then pull it back and and secure it while you make your knots.
My friend Stephanie schooled me on knots and told me to get a craft pipe cleaner and make it into my own cheating knot tool. Love that idea--- Love it!!!
Loop it through the hair. And weave the hair trough and give it a gentil tug and pull it through...
No tears...
No ouchies...
Just one really good looking knot.
You keep making knots and instead of going strait down about the time you get to the ear turn this to be directed back towards your pony tail you secured at the beginning.
And once you have both sides knotted up you will secure the pony tail in the middle as one pony tail.
Tuck the hair half way through the pony tail. Do not use that same tool we used for the first knots. We only want this to go half way through. Stop! Squeese the sides together.
Wrap a rubber band around the outside to secure this peacock bun.
I took s needle with with ribbon and tied it around it to hide that last rubber band.
Gave it come curls and called this done.

Thank you SJ.

Betty says...

My Betty button is still in tact, but she felt this was a time to make a post appearance. Because there are good things happening in hair blogging on the end of great giveaways. I have two gals that I have made a good friendship with that is non hair related, but hair based (teehe!!!) and they are both having awesome giveaways. You have Hair for my Princess she is sharing the wealth and hooking you up with oodles of goodies for your holiday season. You have Babes in Hairland hooking you up for the next seven days! And showing new hair products and fancy new do's to boot! And don't forget to get your Flip Flop Friday styles to me to be entered in this Fridays pot for those bows. I think this will be my last week for that one. So get your hair do's emailed over to me before Friday at 10:00 am. And go get some goodies at those other sites doing giveaways.

Head Band Weaved

<span class=

Before I broke my shoulder I was working on perfecting this hair do (above) and rolling it into a tutorial. Unfortunately I never did get the tutorial part done. This isn't even as perfect as you can make this cute hair do. But it you make two braids like this. And then weave in the ribbon like this. And finish it with messy pigs, my way. You will make this (above) cute hair do. Fun stuff.

Flip Flop Friday {The Results: Week 2}

My shoulder and back is in bad shape, but I got this posted--- yeah! And I have two or three hair do tutorials to post soon too. Just old ones I haven't got around to posting yet. I felt really bad on Wednesday Beans cried for me to do her hair because she wanted to look beautiful for school. I felt so bad and I did a quick hair do that wasn't too painful. Taking pictures of the step by step might be a challenge, but maybe for a few weeks I can pull together some really simple Girly Do-Do's. ((Yuck)) We'll see what we can pull out of our hate! I just love you gals so much. And Nikyla has so much fun--- a broken shoulder makes this no fun.

♥ ♥ ♥
Dana- had a great time with her girls... She let them get revenge on her head for a while. The results is very fabulous.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Melissa let her little one loose on her head and found her daughter playing hair salon with her friends the next day.
She is too cute!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Britta took some time after church for a little mother daughter flip-flop time. Love your darling daughters cute do.

And she has done a fantastic job on your hair too!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Cute cute Camara and her daughter looking darling together. Awesome use of bows!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Tonya has a good thing going after her make over--- Lots of bows are totally your thing! Love the look!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Liora's little ones wanted to make Dad over this time. So mom took camera duty and dad took the salon seat for this make over. And he looks awesome! Good job girls! And good job dad--- I love seeing a good sport!

I love the use of bows in the side burn- that makes me giggle!

♥ ♥ ♥
So with the names from last week----> our winner is ((drum roll please...))
