It's broken...

Hair line fracture on the shoulder bone. It's very painful. I'll do flip flop Friday after the pain goes away. I still have a few more hair do's lined up to add to the blog, but new ones might be out for a while. Check out all the other hair bloggers by clicking on that tab under my header. There are a few brand new ones under that tab at the bottom. Go there for a while and I'll be back--- eventually.

Down...

Sorry I will post this weeks flip flop do's ASAP. I fell down the stairs today--- it was a really bad fall. I was holding baby at the time and dropped him when my shoulder slapped the stairs. He's not hurt. We were lucky. Its also black Friday and I work retail. We were told if we didn't show up today to never show up again. And they were serious. Well I just worked a long all day shift in pain. And I am realizing how bad this arm is. I can't even lift it to type right now. OUCH!!! I'll be back in a few days.

Happy ((late)) Thanksgiving.

Zig-Zag part

I must apologize right up front. I feel really bad that I haven't done this a long time ago. A blog friend that I meet way back when I first started my hair blog asked me FOREVER ago to show her how to for a zig-zag part. And I haven't got it done. I feel really bad for that. So I am so sorry Laura--- but here it is.

This isn't a hard style. As a matter of fact this is one of my out the door hair do's that I throw together when we are in a hurry. So if you are in need of a quickie--- here's a good one.
I did a fancy braid from Cutie Pie Hair Creations. That was just for fun. Anyways... pull the hair into a VERY loose pony tail where you want to do your zig-zag part. Hold it loose and comb any fly away hair smooth. You don't need to worry about having all the hair in your hand since you are just doing a part.
Using a comb with a pointed end or a pencil start your part by placing the end of the comb where you want to start. This is a lot like driving. 10 and 2--- have your comb angled as if it was in the 2 position on a clock moving towards the 8 position and then slide it into the hair and stop at however wide you want your part. Watch how far the comb goes into the hair. You will want to repeat this with each turn.
Stop your comb and pivot around. Now you are in the 10 position on a clock moving towards the 4 position on a clock. STOP! watch this next picture I think it shows how I move the comb through the hair to make the part.
Slide it in. And stop at about the same spot you were watching from the first part. If you do that you will have a nice even part.
Stop and pivot.
Slide it through.
Once at the bottom finish he part and divide the hair into your pig tails.
That is a zig-zag part. Beautiful. And I don't worry about it being totally perfect--- you can drive yourself mad making yours perfect, but not me. I can handle things being a bit off.
Secure and then make them messy pigs.
Cute!!!

Flip Flop Friday {The Results: Week 1}

Sit down, relax and get ready for some cute hair do's! All the girls did a great job. I will be drawing a winner later today and you'll be the first to know who won. Well they probably will know first because I will send out an email... But here are all the hair do's that were submitted. Also--- just FYI I left out all last names and girls names for privacy reasons for the girls.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

First up----> Bonny and her 3 and 5 year old doing a fancy do. After they did mom's hair they did each others hair. Mom is pregnant so this was a relaxing activity.
And check out how cute mom's hair ended up! Very fun!♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Next we have Jamie from Curls & Cowlicks she took this picture of her husbands hair. This was done while he was sleeping and he'd be less than happy to see it on the Internet. And since he'll never check over here... she figured this was a safe place to show off her girls artistic style. Nice!!! I love it!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Laura is next---> She got to do this two times with both her daughters on different days. And she has some sweet style going on. She did it first with her youngest who would put in clip after clip and say this one is because you are so special....

As you can tell that is one special (LOVED) mom! And her daughter had a blast being put in charge. Look how happy she is!
Go ahead and try counting all those hair clips...

Her older daughter was home from school under the weather today, so to pass the time they played make over.

X marks the spot!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Next up Lindy! Her cutie thought it was fun to make her mom's hair stand up like this! And since it was so much fun she made mom's hair look great by making it stand up!
Lindy-- big hair looks real good on you! Tell your daughter she has great taste.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Karen's husband lost a bet and had to give in to a make over form his girls. But not just his hair... makeup- toes nail painting and everything. Tell ya what--- that is one GREAT dad for letting his girls take over on his make over!
Look close at those clips.... see any hidden words? ((ha ha))
Karen you are in so much trouble! I am routing for this thing to end in your favor as a winner so that you can tell him he was "featured" and that he won bows for his girls! If you don't win-- I'll never drop a hint he was featured here and you can keep it a secret!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Next up is the son of Katie. Katie claims that she is a mean mom and makes her two years old daughters big brother give in and play dress up with her. And when princess says to put on the head band... you PUT ON THE head band. I think big brother is in big trouble!!!

You look awesome bud! And remember you are the big brother!!! You have one of the most important rolls in the world so building good relationships like this right now will pay off later when you are playing big protective brother. You are an awesome brother!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Bridget's daughter got some help from her baby brother as this was so much fun that everyone wanted to be a part of the action!
Looking good!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Lisa got all bow's and ribbons too as her daughter decorated her with the bows she makes herself. I admire the talented bow makers out there! I like the ones right in your face best! Well placed!!!
Too cute!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Erika's Daughter had fun doing the hair do, but didn't want to get her picture taken. I think they call that preteen(ism) right? Well the style looks cute and we are happy that your sister stood in your place for a cute picture with mom.
Mom looks great! You did a good job!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Manina started out with two hands working her hair do...
But two quickly became three as baby sister wanted in on the action too!
Man having all girls would be a lot of fun!
Mom- looks SUPER!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Margie had the styling arts of a four year old to decorate her hair. And I think the way that she stacks all the clips like that looks brilliant!!! She did a great job. BTW- it looks like she is a right hander!!! Beautiful hair style!!!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Check out Sarah and her fancy hair style. I'd say for sure that her little ones made her look like a beautiful garden in spring! That is a lot of flowers! I love it!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Shaye was the bravest of brave! She wore her hair around town to run errands. It made her little one feel very honored that her mom wore her hair do so proud! And it goes without saying that I now know where your little one gets her thick mane! Shaye is from Miller Manes... And she has thick hair like her daughter has! Beautiful!
Girlfriend is so proud of herself!!!

Mom looks good.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Sarah W. had a make over from her 7 and 5 year old. She is sporting long knots held in place by fancy flowers. Really good job girls! You made your mom look better even more beautiful then she already was! Very cute style.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

For Mary's hair do it was all about accessories according to her daughters. So if you'd like to repeat this hair do you must get the latest and greatest hair accessories!
Looking good mom!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Camille enjoyed the pampering form her daughters hair do make over. She laid back on the couch and relaxed as the magic was worked on her hair! And the results---->Fabulous!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Near and dear to my heart is my friend Stephanie and her girls. Especially this first one pictured... ((Pssst-- that's my son's girlfriend. He has great taste.)) Stephanie's girls have got mad skill. Way to go girls! Time to start up your own blog about hair!

Nice pigs!!!
This is the look I remember you for while growing up! Yeah--- that's the one!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Kathy's doll had such a good time doing her mom's hair that she did a repeate performance on her own hair! She wanted to look as beautiful as she made her mom look- and lets just say you both look super beautiful!

That smile is your best accessory though! Never leave home without that!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And last for this week we had a whole family making this into a fun activity! Julieann was being made over by her daughter and her boys wanted to play along too!
Sp while her daughter did her hair...
The boys made over dad's hair! I can just hear the laughter as you guys were playing along to this game! What a cool dad to partisipate!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Beans watched these pictures come in especially the ones of dad's and she got really mad at her dad---- and his baldness! I love all the hair do's! I love that so many people were having fun with there kids and playing along with this. The one thing I never read from anyone was that it wasn't worth it! Trust me any time playing with your kids is time well spent.

Thanks guys. If you didn't get your entry in this week make sure and get it in before we draw again next friday. All these gals that entered today will also be in next weeks drawing. You can only win one time. And we are saying one entry for each family since for a lot of families so many people got involved and it would be unfair to the families with one kid to have the family with nine to take over the game! But let everyone get involved--- it makes it that much more fun!!!

Winner announcement to come!!!
