Two Strand Braids

I might kick myself in the butt for this one. This is something all new for ya. I know that for a lot of people they just need the pictures and they can pull off any off these hair do's posted by me or anyone else. Well I was playing around and I came up with this new way to TUT-- (as in tutorial...) I am in need of a lot of input here... Do you like it or hate it? Be honest... I'm talking brutally honest.

♥ ♥ ♥By the way when you hit play I do have music going along with the video, so If you don't want it to be loud I suggest you turn it to mute or at least down. It was just to plain with out it.

This is another hair bow from All Things Ribbon. I seriously love her bows. If you haven't got some yet you need to go over there and get a few. There are some just like shown on this hair do, but you can get them for Christmas. Remember to use the "Girly Do" code at check out!

  2. The music was a little distracting, and at first I was confused, but I turn the sound of and re-watched it, and it was much better! You're daughter is adorable, and I think I could actually do this style! I like the video, you did a great job! Thanks!

  4. I generally understand how to do hairdos by skimming the pictures and occasionally reading a little bit. So, I ended up just jumping through the video because it took too long to watch all the way through. I guess I prefer just pictures like usual. Good idea to switch things up a bit though.

  5. I don't know anything about computers and technology, but if you could put video in between the instruction sheets instead of the frames of pictures I think it would be a lot easier to follow??

Hey, why did the hair police go private?? I was totally looking forward to a good laugh now and then. :(

  6. I thought it was pretty good, but I agree with what the previous poster said in when she said it was a little difficult to follow with the frames the way they were. I love video but I guess I would just prefer plain live video all the way through with voice instruction. Doesn't hurt to experiment though!

  7. I love the pictures at the end. She is just so darn cute!

I like how you experiment and change things up. It's fun to seem something new.

  8. I think this would be a good way to do a tut on more complicated hairdos every now and then, but most of the time, I like to just look at the pics and skim the instructions.

  9. It was helpful to see the photo transitions in this way. I was kind of distracted by the music, but I understand why you used it. Thanks for a great TUT. :)

  10. I felt that the video took too long for me to watch all the way through, however, I am one of those that usually just uses the pictures as my guide.

  11. I agree with 'Sarah or someone like her'. I appreciate that you took the time to make the cool video though!

  12. Hi Jen,

I am fairly new to hair styling so I personally do beter with both written instructions and pictures. This was a little confusing at first but after I watched it twice I got it. Thanks for the idea! I am really glad you are back!

  13. i must be an idiot, i think it was too confusing with the video lol! I love the hairdo but still have no idea how you did it, i will have to watch it again. It was a good change up thought!

  14. I think I learn the same way as Rachelle. I do, however, benefit from video tutorials when things get complicated. I think "to be brutally honest" I would do pics for simple 'dos and regular video for the more complex ones. Maybe I'm a little ADD, but it seemed to take a long time to get through it. I LOVE this simple style, though. You are one of my "Hair Heros!" And your pictures are awesome as always!

  15. Thank you for all your work. Add me to the list of confused. I see the boofage and how to do it but I have no idea what you were doing with the two braids. It's a lot less clear this way and I could not

  16. Okay, just a funny little side note...Your blog looks super cool in chinese!

  17. That was kinda cool, but please don't do it often. I can't copy and paste those photos into my "hair-do" book that I keep in my bathroom for when it's time to do my daughter's hair. I like that style, but I won't remember how to do it tomorrow without coming out to my computer and watching it again before doing her hair...that won't work ;)

  18. I love your hair do ideas. I did not like the video it took to long and I like to just look at pics. If I don't understand something I tend to read your directions and they are always perfect. Thanks for taking the time to try new stuff out and sharing it with us! You are awesome at it!

  20. Hey Jenn, I am SO glad you are back! I actually found the video helpful. I think it helps me figure out the stlye. I didn't mind the music at all. Thank You.

  21. I prefer the pictures, instructions and regular video. I didn't really understand how you did the braids. You did a great job on the video, but it didn't serve the purpose the same way that your other posts do. I will have to watch it again in order to understand this hairstyle.
No matter what style of teaching that you choose to use, I will still follow your blog because I think you are great and I love the hairstyles that you teach!

  22. I think that for this hairstyle the video was nice because you could do lots of pics without making a super long post. But I think for simpler do's a couple of pictures are helpful so that I can look back at something in the middle instead of watching the whole thing. You have such darling ideas and I really appreciate all your hard work, as does my daughter. She always tells me that she wants to "look at hair on the computer." Thanks!!
